Eden Restored: Central Asia
The Central Asian garden features a couple in richly patterned clothing standing underneath an olive tree. Beside them a Persian leopard prowls through a field of tulips, irises, and allium. At top, Armenian apricots hang over the Silk Road mountains being crossed by Bactrian camels.
Of all of the Eden Restored paintings, I find that this one is the most challenging for people to identify the region correctly. This region covers the Persian and Turkic world and is distinguished from the Middle East and North Africa region, which sits geographically further to the west. This is the part of the world where the heart of the Silk Road is located. I associated the biblical gemstone chrysoprase with this region because the light green color can be found in locally-grown olives and pistachios.
Approximately 3ft x 7ft (.91x2.13m) Acrylic and dye on silk. The dyes have been set permanently using a steam-setting process. The top includes a sewn-in compartment for inserting a rod or wire for hanging.
As seen in NYC, Paris, and Tokyo
Please note: This painting along with the entire Eden Restored collection is reserved for exhibition until December 31, 2025. You are encouraged to pay in installment using Klarna or Afterpay. If purchased before December 31, 2025, you will receive the painting in January 2026. Additional international shipping fees may apply.
