Eden Restored: Oceania/Australia

$2,222.00

The Oceanic garden features some of the flora and fauna unique to the Land Down Under. An Aboriginal Australian couple stand in the outback. Beside them is a koala in the eucalyptus tree. A kangaroo holds her joey underneath the golden wattle. Other flowers include the bottlebrush, kangaroo paw, and waratah. One of the most special features of this painting is an under the sea look at a sea turtle swimming in the coral reef.

Aboriginal Australians include people of many tribes and languages. Well-known cultural traditions include dot painting and a collective storytelling about the creation of the world called the Dreamtime. The pattern I placed on Eve’s skirt is loosely inspired by these traditions. The biblical gemstone I associated with this region is the jacinth, which reminded me of Uluru, the great red rock of Australia.

Approximately 3ft x 7ft (.91x2.13m) Acrylic and dye on silk. The dyes have been set permanently using a steam-setting process. The top includes a sewn-in compartment for inserting a rod or wire for hanging.

As seen in NYC, Paris, and Tokyo

Please note: This painting along with the entire Eden Restored collection is reserved for exhibition until December 31, 2025. You are encouraged to pay in installment using Klarna or Afterpay. If purchased before December 31, 2025, you will receive the painting in January 2026. Additional international shipping fees may apply.
