The African garden painting features a couple in white and orange printed clothing standing under a baobab tree. They are joined by several prominent African animals, including a lion, elephant, giraffe, and zebra. Depicted flowers include the African violet, African aloe,  African daisy, bird of paradise flower, paintbrush lily, pineapple flower, and red hot poker.

The biblical gemstone associated with this painting is onyx/sardonyx, which is reflected in the prominence of orange and warm tones in the ground, as well as the streaky nature of the zebra. The warm colors reflect the friendly nature and propensity for joyful praise that is commonly found among African peoples.

Approximately 3ft x 7ft (.91x2.13m) Acrylic and dye on silk. The dyes have been set permanently using a steam-setting process. The top includes a sewn-in compartment for inserting a rod or wire for hanging.
